The Roc Partners business has been in operation since 1996 with over 60 employees located across Sydney, Hong Kong, Melbourne and Shanghai. Roc Partners has one of the largest and most experienced alternative investment teams in the Asia-Pacific region.
Roc Partners was established as an independent, alternative investment management firm following the management buy-out of Macquarie Group’s private markets business unit (“MIMPM”) by its senior executives in June 2014.

How did we get our name?
We wanted something that was relevant to the investment management industry but also symbolised our vision, strength and commitment to delivering on our objectives for our clients.
The Roc is a mythological bird of prey, akin to a giant eagle that had the capability to sweep away large prey many times its size. It would take vision, strength and commitment to do so. The name “Roc” is also by coincidence an acronym for one of the fundamental objectives in investing: consistently providing an appropriate Return on Capital.
Developing long term trusted partnerships that create value for our clients is Roc Partners number one objective.
